MB Swings! is a full-sized big band borne of the traditions of the great swing bands of the past, but we’re unlike anything that you've seen before. The band is comprised of some of the areas most outstanding musicians, and was created to bring new music, in the big band style, to audiences throughout the region. MB Swings! is owned and backed by the Monday Blues Jazz Orchestra, LLC. (The same guys who run the Monday Blues Jazz Orchestra: the tri-state’s hottest big band for weddings, parties,  corporate events, and ballroom dancing), and benefits from access to a gigantic music library, modern equipment, and the full backing of an insured legal entity that was created to manage a big band.

Members of MB Swings! have played with many of the areas popular local bands, and have spent years playing the same music over and over without adding anything new, without changing or upgrading the show, without singers, and without the level of energy that MB Swings! brings to our performances. We decided that it was time for a change - to do something different: to modernize a big band and broaden the appeal to new audiences, to make it fun for everyone, to feature a vocalist as the star of the show, to breathe life into the performance, and to energize the crowd. With those goals in mind, MB Swings! was born.

     MB Swings! realizes that audiences and tastes change over time, and that the original music of the 1920’s, 30’s, and 40’s may be far from the memory of many people. We play music that everyone knows, in all styles (including some things that you would not normally associate with a big band), all of it perfect for both listening and dancing, and we do so in a very modern style. We feature a vocalist prominently, rather than treating them as an accessory to an instrumental group, we play modern arrangements that sound great, and we bring a high level of energy to our performances – all at a cost that is highly competitive with the other bands out there.

MB Swings! recalls the elegance of Hollywood in its heyday, the glamour of Las Vegas and its shows, and the style and class of New York's high society parties with a big band whose music has relevance to audiences of all ages.
